P-G Reporter to Speak at Historical Society

Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reporter and local historian Len Barcousky will be the guest on Jan. 14 at the Mifflin Twp. Historical Society, a spokesman said.

Barcousky has been a journalist since 1970 and has been a suburban reporter for the Post-Gazette since 2002. In that job he has written about everything from George Washington's travels through Butler and Allegheny counties to the adventures of an Indiana Township doctor turned feature filmmaker.

He is the author of two books, Civil War Pittsburgh: Forge of the Nation and Remembering Pittsburgh: An Eyewitness History of the Steel City, and pens the "Eyewitness" column for the Sunday Post-Gazette.

Barcousky also will answer questions and autograph copies of his books. The historical society is located at 4733 Greensprings Ave., West Mifflin, in the former municipal building and police station.
