27th Festival of Trees Greets Holiday Revelers

Category: Announcements || By Jason Togyer

Escorted by members of the city's fire department, a jolly old elf greets members of Daisy Troop 58112 at Renziehausen Park following a tree-lighting ceremony Thursday night. The Daisy Troop serenaded people attending the opening night for McKeesport's 27th annual Festival of Trees.

Also shown are Sarah Roka of Versailles, a first-year student at CCAC South Campus, and Maia Rhodes of the city, a student at Founder's Hall. Roka and Rhodes were the queen and princess, respectively, of this year's McKeesport Salute to Santa parade.

Festival of Trees continues from 12 to 9 p.m. daily through Monday at the park's Jacob Woll Pavilion. Admission is $2 for adults, while children are admitted free with a donation for a local food bank. More than 70 trees are on display and live entertainment will be provided daily.
