Two juniors at South Allegheny High School have been awarded $60,000 scholarships to Seton Hill University in Greensburg.

Alexandra Ruhl and Abby Sekulich each received Women in Science awards for chemistry and biology from the university.

A Seton Hill spokeswoman said the Women in Science Scholarship has been awarded since 2007 to 65 Pittsburgh-area high school students. Students are nominated by teachers at their high schools.

The scholarship provides $15,000 per year for eight full-time consecutive semesters at Seton Hill. Students must make academic progress and maintain a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 to renew the scholarship each year.
