Veteran's Day Activities Planned

McKeesport will hold a service for Veteran's Day Monday morning at Memorial Park, Lysle Boulevard at Market Street, Downtown, a spokeswoman said.

Units involved in the service will line up for a parade at the corner of Huey Street and Fifth Avenue, and then march down Fifth Avenue to Water Street, before proceeding to the war memorial, where the service will be held at 11 a.m.

Separately, Allegheny County will hold a service and National Remembrance Day Roll Call at 10 a.m. Monday at Heinz Memorial Chapel at the University of Pittsburgh in Oakland, a spokeswoman said. The service is sponsored by the county Office of Veterans Services and County Executive Rich Fitzgerald is expected to participate.

The city of Pittsburgh will hold its Veterans Day Parade beginning at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Grant Street and Liberty Avenue, downtown Pittsburgh. The parade will travel on Liberty Avenue to Wood Street, and finishes on the Boulevard of the Allies.

All state and county offices will be closed on Monday in observance of Veterans Day, a spokeswoman said.
