Local Pair Named Penn State's 'Athletes of Week'

Two students from Penn State's campus in McKeesport were named "Student-Athletes of the Week" in the Penn State University Athletic Conference.

The honors went to forward Christina Floyd, who plays for the women's basketball team at Penn State Greater Allegheny, and guard Petrie Addison, who plays for the men's basketball team.

Floyd averaged a double-double through three games, with 18.7 points and 16 rebounds per contest. She opened up the weekend against Brandywine, and posted 24 points and a season-high 24 rebounds. It was the fourth time this season she accumulated at least 20 rebounds in a single game.

In an 80-33 win over Schyulkill, Floyd earned her 15th double-double on the season. Floyd currently leads the PSUAC in rebounding, at 13.2 per game.

Addison led Greater Allegheny to a 1-1 week, averaging a double-double with 31.7 points and 17 boards per game. In the 92-87 heartbreaker loss against Penn State Brandywine, Addison added 33 points and grabbed 20 rebounds.

In the team's 74-67 victory over Schuylkill, the 6-foot, 6-inch guard scored 30 points along with grabbing 14 rebounds. Addison currently leads the PSUAC in both scoring and rebounding at 24.5 points and 12.2 rebounds per game.
