Pittsburgh Councilwoman Natalia Rudiak will be the keynote speaker at Penn State Greater Allegheny's spring commencement, a spokeswoman said.

Rudiak, who chairs council's finance and law committee, will deliver her commencement address at 11 a.m. May 10 at Wunderley Gymnasium on the McKeesport campus. Interim Chancellor Nancy Herron will preside as diplomas are conferred to students receiving baccalaureate and associate degrees.

Rudiak is a graduate of George Washington University who studied at the London School of Economics as well as at Jagiellonian University in Poland. She earned a master's degree in public policy and management from Carnegie Mellon.

She represents Pittsburgh Council District 4, which includes areas south of the Monongahela River, including the neighborhoods of Brookline, Carrick, Mt. Washington and Overbrook and part of the Route 51 corridor.

Before being elected to Pittsburgh city council, Rudiak worked at Deloitte Consulting, the U.S. Senate, and for a public health organization in New York promoting safe and healthy motherhood.

In 2009, she was named one of the "40 Under 40" by PUMP and Pittsburgh magazine, and was voted Young Democrat of the Year in 2011 by the Young Democrats of Allegheny County. She was also named a 2012 Outstanding Elected Democratic Woman by the Pennsylvania Federation of Democratic Women. In April 2013, she was named Pennsylvania State Director of the Young Elected Officials Network. Rudiak is currently a Board Member of the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh.
