Police Beat: N. Braddock Man Gets 10 Years

Category: News || By Submitted Report

A North Braddock man faces 10 years in jail after being convicted of participating in a heroin ring.

U.S. District Judge Arthur J. Schwab imposed the sentence this week on 26-year-old Russell Franklin of Bell Avenue, who also will face three years' supervised release after completing his sentence.

U.S. Attorney David J. Hickton said Franklin's conviction stemmed from his role in a conspiracy to distribute heroin between February and April 2011.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Brendan Conway prosecuted the case, which was investigated by the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and Monroeville police, Hickton said.
