The Mon Valley will once again kick off the Christmas season with McKeesport's annual "Salute to Santa" parade at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 16.
The parade --- arguably the largest in Western Pennsylvania outside of Pittsburgh --- will take place along Fifth Avenue between the McKees Point Marina and City Hall.
Groups, colorguards and marching bands from throughout the area are being invited to participate, said Annette James, assistant to city Mayor Michael Cherepko. To register as a participant or get more information, call James at (412) 675-5020, extension 605, or email annette.james@mckeesport-pa.gov.
