Halloween Events Begin Friday

Category: Announcements || By Submitted Report

Get ready for Halloween! The city of McKeesport is holding a "zombie walk" for youth and young adults ages 13 to 18 at 7 p.m. Friday, October 25 in Renziehausen Park.

Events begin at the Jacob Woll Pavilion, where teens will see a mad scientist doing experiments. Then they'll learn to do the "thriller" dance and enjoy refreshments.

(UPDATE: Because of expected inclement weather, all activities for Friday's teen event have been moved indoors to the main pavilion, said Annette James, assistant to Mayor Mike Cherepko.)

It's all free for kids ages 13 to 18 and sponsored by McKeesport Little Theater, McKeesport Area High School and McKeesport Recreation Commission.

A costume parade will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 26 at Renzie's tennis courts. The parade is sponsored by Carnegie Library of McKeesport and McKeesport Recreation Commission.

The city has set "trick or treat" hours from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 31.

Correction: This story had the wrong trick or treat times. Trick?
