PSU Campus Raises $14K for Cancer Research

Penn State Greater Allegheny students Ashia Mack and Jaleel Dyson danced for 46 hours last weekend at THON 2014, the Penn State IFC/PanHellenic Dance Marathon.

The THON Organization of Greater Allegheny raised $13,862.12 this year towards the fight against cancer, bringing the total raised throughout 10 years to $147,804.09.

THON is a yearlong effort throughout all of the Penn State campuses to raise funds and awareness for the fight against pediatric cancer. Since 1977, THON has raised more than $101 million for the Four Diamonds Fund at Penn State Hershey Medical Center, which supports childhood cancer research.

Penn State Greater Allegheny held many events such as Pie in the Face, Date Auction, Penny Wars, Spaghetti Dinner, THON bowling, Cooking with Doug and Kennywood Fright Night.
